Having emigrated from China to Vancouver in 2010, Roy brings lived experience of navigating between Eastern and Western artistic paradigms. His artistic practice explores themes of adaptation and identity through series examining invasive Asian plant species in North America as metaphors for immigration experiences, while his curatorial and educational work focuses on bridging theoretical frameworks across cultural contexts.
